Book and Bound Document ScanningScanning can be carried out without disbinding or cutting up a book! There are scanning bureaus who will happily guillotine a book or bound document into separate sheets and then put them through an automatic sheet feed scanner. We happen to think that is sacrilege. And we are sure that you do too! A book or bound document can be scanned in its normal relaxed open position without any damage to the book.
Does it matter if there is a curve in the book? No. Not at all.
Mostly, we don't need to use that special feature, (and it takes a little longer in the scanning process), but it is there if we need it. So if your original is a book, a ring binder, an old ledger, or a bound set of company minutes, then we can scan it efficiently and easily without damage or disbinding. The output can be a series of image files, or a PDF file for viewing using Acrobat Reader. We can also automatically generate web pages to view the whole page, and with thumbnails in the left hand column. For a facsimile reprint of a book, a PDF file is ideal. Just send the PDF file to your printing company, and say "print this book please". It is as easy as that!
