This entry level overhead grey scale + bitonal scanner is really easy
to use.
A resolution of 400 dpi assures and produces high quality images. Bookeye® GS400 provides a preview of each scan on the monitor. You can integrate the GS400 into your company network without any hassle. The standard interface along with the TCP/IP protocol enables you to integrate it wherever a network socket is available. Therefore, you no longer need special video boards and drivers or to make an extra effort for integration. It works with any modern PC. Just plug it in and there you go. You save costs and time by being highly efficient! You can scan a whole book in one batch "order", and apply cropping, deskew, etc. as you go, or afterwards. Using the BCS-2 software you can transfer save the batch of images, and/or transfer them to web pages, email, ftp, etc. and even automatically create PDF files.

Yes! This is a live Red Admiral butterfly! It landed on a book as we were scanning it. It just goes to show how good this scanner is. And of course, the butterfly was totally unharmed.
A small section of a large map. Even on the original the words are difficult to read because they are so tiny. But the Bookeye scanner makes this an easy job.
Look! No ink! This is a scan of an embossed seal on an old document from the 1800s. There's no special technique used. Just place the document on the scanner and press the "go" button, and this is the result.
And do you see those fine horizontal grey lines. They are the "watermark" lines that were created when the paper was made. (They used to lay the wet pulp on wires). If we can scan those, then we can scan any handwriting that is extremely faded. In fact, by altering the brightness and contrast setting just slightly, we can even scan the watermark in the paper!

Above, a greyscale scan of an old book. And of course, this scanner can cope easily with tiny print in an old book in bitonal (black & white) too. Are you thinking about scanning an old book to make a reprint? No problem! Just have the BCS-2 software make a PDF file and send that to the printing company. It's that easy!
