CD/DVD Duplicating - With Printed Surface

We are happy to be totally flexible. If you only want 10 copies, then we can do them. If you want 5,000 copies, we can do them. If you want 100 now, with the possibility of perhaps doing 10 more later, we can do that too.

Total flexibility to suit your needs.

CD publishing is "publishing on demand". You can forget the old concept of book printing, where you have to have a large batch printed all in one go, and then hold lots in stock. Simply have the CDs made in batches as and when you need them. It is so much more cost efficient!

We have five state of the art robot CD publishing machines. They write the CDs and print the surfaces all on one go.

The scenario. Your company produces one-off CDs and you can write those when you need them using your computer, but you want a CD surface print that is professional, and which shows your corporate image.

The answer is simple. We can provide you with blank CDs that have pre-printed surfaces.

CD product mastering

So you have a concept. An idea of what your CD needs to contain. But it all needs collating properly so that the final CD product will work.

A CD can contain a mixture of different types of data. The most common is a CD that opens up and runs like a set of web pages, with inter-linked pages. Another type is a set of PDF files, with bookmarks and a contents page. Or even a combination of the two. A powerpoint presentation. Add some music or video? The possibilities are endless. But that's where our services for product mastering come in. We make it happen so that it all works seamlessly, and is really easy for the end user.

Prices:

PDF file creation (from batch of scans - no OCR) It is possible to convert the TIFF or Jpeg image files to PDF format for use with Adobe Acrobat Reader and supply of the PDF file(s) on CD	£15.00
OCR Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can be done on some printed books at an additional charge. It is not 100% effective with old books that have inconsistent or small type face, but can approach 98% perfect for a good clear type face, even if the book is very old. The best way of presenting an old book with OCR is to allow the reader to see the original book's pages (the scanned images), but to make them searchable. Imagine having the book's page on screen on your computer, but with a hidden page of text behind it. The search looks for a word, or even part of a word or a phrase on that hidden text, and then shines a highlight through to the surface where those words appear on the real page. Book Marking/linking in PDF files Book marking of the PDF file is a form of indexing which provides an electronic link to the book marked page, it is particularly useful for the indexing of chapter headings and will allow the reader to skip straight to the desired chapter.	£0.40p per bookmark
Creation of a licence file (PDF) This is a PDF file, which is a Licence Agreement, it is governed by the laws of England and Wales. It explains the restrictions of use for the CD. Example of text included in the licence PDF:- "These images are supplied for information and personal research only. No reproduction may be made for publication without prior written consent. By purchase of this product you have not acquired title or ownership of software materials or data contained on this CD-ROM or product packaging or documentation. This licence grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software and documentation. You are prohibited from copying, reproducing, translating, disassembly, recompilation or reverse engineering of any part of the software or related packaging or documentation. This licence entitles use of the software contained on this CD-ROM product and related documentation. This licence permits a single user on a single site to access the CD at any given time. The software or documentation may not be loaned, rented or leased, or used for any other form of remunerated gain. This licence agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales"	£5.00
Creation of PDF contents page This is a PDF file, which when loaded, links to all the other PDF files on the CD, it enables users to quickly navigate the CD and is especially useful if your product is to have more than 1 PDF file.	£5.00

CD/DVD surface print artwork & design

Professional artwork and design for a CD surface print speaks a million words.

There are some very important considerations to make however. The most important of these is the cost of printing the surfaces! Therefore we need to make a design that is cost efficient. Yes, it would be very pretty to have an all-over coloured background or a colour photograph as a background. That is easy to design, but will drastically increase the cost of your CD production. If you are happy with that, then fine. But it is important advice that we need to give you.

The most cost-efficient CD surface print is one that does not use too much ink. Most printable CD blanks have a white surface to start with. It is our job to provide a practical solution, and to create a good looking design, but one which won't cost too much to print!

This stunning case design is based on a real book. Actually, what we did is to scan the cover of the real Kelly's Post Office Directory, (note that the original has embossed cloth covers), complete with its gold crest, and then we added classy gold lettering, etc. This one is actually a DVD case, but desinged to look like a real book on the shelf.

Supply of CD cases and wallets

You may have your CDs in any one of the following cases (prices excluding insert prints)

Flimsy clear wallet with flap		This is a simple, very inexpensive, and efficient way of storing and distributing CDs. Price each £0.08p

A Business Card that is a CD !

What better advertisement for your company? Each of those who now carry business cards can have a traditional sized card which is a CD. And the CD can contain just about anything. Your full catalogue of products, an up to date price list. Images, PDF files, "web page" files. Your customer or contact can just pop the CD into their computer, and there it is on screen. The contents of the business card CD can even link directly into your company's web pages, just like clicking on a link on a real web page. It makes the business card integrate seamlessly into your web site.

A Business Card CD can contain up to 32Mb of data. That's enough to contain your whole catalogue and brochures easily.

Each card comes complete with surface print, and in a clear plastic wallet, to keep it safe.

Prices:

Business card surface print design @ £10.00

If only the name and title in the company is changed on the surface print (just as on a traditional business card), orders for business card CDs can be at the same bulk prices. (Not applicable on under 50 CDs)

A supplementary charge will be made for printing costs where the design is ink intensive, for example with large blocks of colour, solid colour background or photographs. To obtain an accurate price for these variations please submit your design as a TIF or JPG image file via email.

Merchandising Packs

We can design and produce merchandising or promotional packs for your company. This one for example, contains a superb mouse mat (designed by us of course), a membership certificate, a laminated membership card, a couple of laminated bookmarks, promotional leaflets, and a CD. All contained in a special clear folder. If you wish, the CD can even be the size and shape of a business card.
